French Canadian powerhouse trio Vishtèn are making their first visit to New Zealand, bringing their upbeat infusion of traditional songs, built on a bedrock of driving foot percussion, fiddle, piano, step dance, and accordion.

The group is a leading exponent of Acadian music, which is the ancestor of today’s Cajun music, and is centered in the French-Canadian regions of New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.

“They’re one of the few groups in the world playing Acadian music, and they’re absolutely the best.” TRAD CONNECT
